The Lonely Goat Cafe
I have always been fascinated with what constitutes as a “home.” It could be the house we grew up in, a favorite holiday meal, or even a piece of music. For me, it was my maternal grandmother’s room as I was growing up. This was before my family moved and kept moving from one city to another. I started “The Lonely Goat Cafe” because of my experience of trying to create a home in different cities all over the world. It has been a challenging and, sometimes, rewarding journey, but often a lonely one. In this podcast, I explore the idea of home: what this word means, our often solitary search for it and how people use music, art, films, dance and literature to explore its meaning.
