I’m a freelance journalist and writer from India, currently based in California.
I recently launched a project called “The Lonely Goat Cafe,” that explores loneliness through the lens of migration.
In 2024, I was the host of a podcast called Last Book Alive where I talked about works of literary fiction from around the world, with a specific focus on Palestinian literature.
I have been a journalist for the last 16 years. My areas of interest are human rights, social justice, literature, heritage and culture.
I have been published in Radio Pacifica, Himal Southasian magazine, The Wire, The Hindu Business Line, as well as in community media outlets Maktoob Media and Two Circles, among others.
I was born in Aligarh, once a small university town, in northern India, but grew up in different cities around the world. My writing usually explores the idea of place, family and what constitutes as home.
My fiction has appeared in Storm Cellar, Newfound, Alebrijes and Papermag.
Books that still blow me away: “Moses and Gaspar” by Amparo Dávila, and “Dead Souls,” always, by Nikolai Gogol.
